Invisalign®
Another orthodontic treatment option that we offer is Invisalign®. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually shift the teeth into their correct position. The aligners are custom-made for each patient, and each set is worn for about two weeks before being replaced with the next set in the series. Invisalign® is often preferred by adults and teenagers who want to correct their smile discreetly, as the aligners are virtually invisible. Additionally, since the aligners are removable, patients can continue to enjoy their favorite foods and maintain their regular oral hygiene routine without the challenges of traditional braces. Invisalign may not be suitable for every case, but our experienced team can help determine if it’s the right choice for you.
The Invisalign Process
Once a patient’s candidacy is established, our team employs an iTero® digital scanner to accurately capture an advanced 3D digital model of their smile. The scanner can also simulate how the teeth will move during orthodontic treatment and into final alignment.
Based on this information, the patient receives a series of aligners, with each one manufactured to be slightly more aligned than the previous one. As the patient wears the first tray, it applies pressure that gradually aligns the teeth in small increments. After 1-2 weeks, the patient is ready for the next tray, which is even straighter than the previous one. This process continues until the desired alignment is achieved.
Throughout treatment, the patient will have periodic appointments with our team to ensure that everything is progressing as planned. We may also adjust the treatment plan as needed and deliver the next tray. Once the treatment is completed, we recommend wearing a retainer to preserve the alignment and ensure long-lasting results, as the teeth may drift back to their original position over time.
